BUYING AT AUCTION
​Buying is made to be fun and enjoyable at Harris & sons auctions. Whether you are attending our auctions live, Bidding by telephone, Online bidding or leaving us in care of your absentee bids, we are here to help in every way we can.
To leave an absentee bid or reserve a space on a lot for phone bidding just contact us through our email or give us a call and we will help you easily get set up.
​Taxes are collected on all auction lots. When bidding from other locations, taxes are calculated according to prevailing law.
Buyers premiums are listed separately for each auction and are payable by the successful bidder to the auction house as part of the purchase price.
​ALL items are personally packed for shipping by Harris & sons auctions. We do NOT out service packing.
​We are happy to have added to wonderful private collections as well as national museums.

Terms & Conditions

1. All property is sold “AS IS” and neither we nor the Consignor make any guarantees, warranties or representations, expressed or implied, with respect to the property, merchantability, or correctness of the catalogue or other description of the authenticity of authorship, physical condition, size, quality, rarity, importance, provenance, exhibitions, literature or historical relevance of the property or otherwise. No statement anywhere, whether oral or written, shall be deemed such a guarantee, warranty or representation. Prospective bidders should inspect the property before bidding to determine its condition, size and whether or not it has been repaired or restored for themselves. Whenever possible we will give our best opinion on lots offered for sale but in no way will this be considered a guarantee. Shipping on phone, internet & absentee bidding is dealt with separately after the sale. Auction lots are payable day of sale. Upon the hammer falling ownership is transferred to the winning bidder.
​In cases of dispute the auctioneers decision is the final authority.
